Build your own acoustic guitar.
Six weekends. Four students max. Take home a finished instrument you hand-picked every piece of.
The class first ran in Atlanta in 2014, built around conversations with friends who said they'd build a guitar one day if they ever had the time. So I tailored it around the working schedule — six weekends, roughly ten hours each day. No tools, materials, or experience required. Each student picks every piece of wood that goes into their guitar from a stock of around 150 guitars' worth on hand.
Class is capped at four students. Small enough that I can work closely with each person, big enough that the day passes quickly. Beginners welcome. Experienced woodworkers welcome. Both have built guitars in this room.
After a successful run, I closed it down for a cross-country move. I'm back in the Atlanta metro now, the new shop is set up, and the first class since the return runs Fall/Winter 2025. Spots are limited — get in touch if you've been counting down.
